Acceptable use terms
These rules explain acceptable use of Release Wingman. Contract terms, pricing and consumer rights are set out in the General Terms.
1. Accounts and authorised use
Use accurate contact details and protect your credentials. Access only accounts, artists and data you are authorised to use. If acting for a band, label or business, you need authority to represent them. Report suspected misuse to account@releasr.net.
2. Your music and content
You retain your rights in music, images and copy. You grant only the permissions needed to technically provide, store, display, share and send content as instructed by you. This does not grant a general right to use your name or content in advertising.
Upload only material for which you hold the necessary copyright, related rights, personality and privacy permissions. Respect agreed photo credits. Illegal content, malware, deception and unlawful discrimination are prohibited.
3. Media contacts and email sending
Release Wingman supports sending through Release Wingman, sending through your own email account after separate approval, or preparing messages for manual sending. You choose recipients, purpose and content and are responsible for their lawfulness. Being an email tool does not remove marketing or privacy obligations.
Add only press and media contacts who have agreed to receive your press releases or music promos, or who expressly invite relevant submissions. Even an invitation requires checking its scope, subject and legal requirements. A published email address or classification as a media contact is not sufficient by itself.
Observe section 174 of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021, the GDPR, your mail provider’s rules and applicable rules in the recipient’s country. Do not conceal the sender’s identity. Respect objections and unsubscribes before sending again. Purchased or scraped lists must not be used without an appropriate legal basis. The checkbox in the contact form is not a substitute for evidence.
4. Sharing and view tracking
Before sharing, check what is accessible through an EPK or download link. Links can be forwarded. Do not place confidential or particularly sensitive data in publicly accessible EPKs.
Personalised EPK tracking attributes link views to a contact. Inform the individuals and check that this is lawful. A counter must not be treated as conclusive proof of reading, interest or a commitment.
5. Service protection and plan limits
Do not bypass access controls or plan limits. Unauthorised extraction of other users’ data, attacks, spam and intentional excessive infrastructure load are prohibited. Coordinate security testing in advance where it may affect other accounts or service operation.
Where there are substantiated indications of misuse, we may temporarily restrict affected content or features to the extent necessary. Where possible, we explain the reason and remedy and allow a response. Acute security risks may require immediate action. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
6. Reports and relationship to the General Terms
Report unlawful content or technical problems to account@releasr.net, identifying the specific location and explaining the issue so it can be assessed.
These rules form part of a contract only where validly agreed. Individual agreements and mandatory law take priority. The privacy policy explains processing and does not constitute blanket consent to it.
